HHS cuts met with anger by Democrats, shrugs from GOP
WASHINGTON — Information of large layoffs on the Well being and Human Providers Division was met with anger and predictions of lawsuits by Democratic lawmakers, and with a shrug by Republicans.
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. introduced a department-wide reorganization on Thursday that requires shedding about 10,000 workers. Mixed with different Trump administration efforts, together with early retirement and buyout presents, HHS will lose about 20,000 workers, one-quarter of its workers.
The Meals and Drug Administration and the Facilities for Illness Management and Prevention can be particularly exhausting hit, every shedding practically 20% of their workforce.
