AbbVie cuts ties with Google-backed longevity agency Calico, lays off scientists
AbbVie is ending a decade-long partnership with Calico Life Sciences, an Alphabet-funded biotech firm centered on getting old analysis, and shedding chemists engaged on discovering new medication.
The strikes, detailed in inner emails despatched Tuesday and seen by STAT, come because the pharmaceutical big is shifting away from small-molecule medication, which embody capsules, and investing extra in injectable therapies and sophisticated genetic medicines.
